It’s that time of year where newspapers and magazines start handing out honors to some of the best football players in the country and in respective conferences. With a season that led to the Insight Bowl which put KU in back to back bowl games for the first time ever. It’s hard to believe (okay maybe not) that in the 119-year history of Kansas football, KU has never made back-to-back bowl appearances. Ray Evans? No. Gayle Sayers? No. John Riggins? No. Okay what about Tony Sands? No. Jake Sharp??? YES! KU has come a long way in a short amount of time and another bowl victory after last years Orange Bowl showing would only enhance the visibility of the KU football program.
