LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football head coach Charlie Weis announced the signing of defensive back Brandon Holloman Monday afternoon. Holloman, who spent the 2012 season at Los Angeles’ Pierce College, is the 27th player to join the Jayhawks in their 2013 recruiting class.
Holloman, who will be a sophomore in 2013, played in eight games for the Brahmas in 2012, helping Pierce to a 9-2 overall mark and a Patriotic Bowl title. He tallied 19 tackles, including 13 solo stops, on the season. He also recorded seven pass breakups, with three coming in the double-overtime Patriotic Bowl win over Mt. San Jacinto. Jayhawk Nation is sure to be nursing a post NCAA tournament hangover but no need to fear because Kansas Football is here.
I know Kansas Football hasn’t been an easy sell the last couple of seasons but anyone that has been following this team throughout the previous offseason can’t help but be optimistic about the upcoming season.
One of the groups that is particularly interesting is the linebackers.
Ben Heeney was probably the Jayhawks most productive defensive player in 2012 and is expected to continue to be a rising star in 2013. To add more intrigue, the Kansas coaches have been raving about senior linebacker Darius Willis who recently returned to the linebacker position.
