Scouts, Inc. Evaluation

Randle looks good on the hoof in terms of size and has equally impressive athleticism. Tall, lean and very rangy; has some muscle-tone but we do question his narrow base as a future college running back. A really well-rounded back at the high school level; has perimeter speed, in-line strength, hands out of the backfield and can block in pass pro. Has a tight waist and good fluidity to elude defenders but we feel he is more productive now and will be in college when he squares up and gets north. Has the frame, with added bulk and speed, to develop into quality one-cut-and-go back. Shows he can make sharp cuts against the grain. Displays good jump-cut skills making defenders miss through the hole; has very loose hips. Likes to bounce outside and has the hips and foot-quickness to stretch it east-west without gearing down much while cutting laterally. Flashes an extra gear when he turns the corner to separate and has good top-end speed in the second level. Longer, smoother stride. However, for his size, he lacks great downhill burst out of his cuts to help power through tackles. Legs can go dead on contact and we would like to see him build up his lower-body and improve running lean to help break through more initial contact and push the pile. Not going to be able to consistently stretch the run outside versus faster pursuing lateral defenders at the next level and we question his in-line power, balance and durability. Could get recruited more as a safety which would take less physical development. Displays good range, deep coverage skills and is comfortable around the ball. Has the hips to match up over quicker slots in space. His ability to adjust to the increased physicality down in the box on run support is the real question mark. Overall, Randle is a smooth, fluid athlete with good size. Has great upside once he enters a fulltime college weight-training program to increase his bulk, strength and overall explosivness
