Edwards lacks ideal height and bulk for a defensive tackle, but if you give the kid a chance he will show you that he can be a disruptive dude. He needs more bulk, but comes across on film as a fairly stout kid. He plays the nose tackle position and it is a good fit for him. He flashes the ability to be quick off the ball. When he does that and combines it with firing out low and shooting his hands he can snap a blocker on his heels. He is able to derive power from the hips, knock the blocker back and throw him aside. He is a little undersized, but tough to handle when he plays like that. He does need to be more consistent with his pad level and not get tall. He needs to use his lack of height to his advantage to help him take on blocks and hold his ground. He hustles to the ball and is a solid tackler. He can scoot fairly well in a straight line. Can come across as a bit rigid in overall body movement. As a pass rusher he can bull rush and will flash the ability to work to the shoulder and get skinny some to work by. Edwards is a kid who displays flashes of ability to be disruptive. You wish he was a little bigger, but could be a nice surprise at the defensive tackle spot in college if he can add some bulk and turn those flashes into more consistency.
