I think it's disappointing as well. He wouldn't have gone last year either if Angel Morris hadn't put him on the spot about it. I just wish he'd do like Calipari and get his mug in every screen shot where his players get drafted. He needs to do a better job of marketing himself that way. Just my opinion.

^^^ Hit the nail on the head. It's all about exposure. Need to take advantage of every opportunity of linking Self/KU with NBA and getting guys to the draft. Disappointed Self's not going to be there. That's one area where Calipari is killing it, he gets the promotional aspect and social media, etc.

Agree would be perfect, they show Thomas and Self and the announcers would talk about how great of a player and man Self has made for Thomas. Would be awesome for recruiting.

100% agree. Robinson and Taylor both deserve that.

Scott Phillips @sphillipshoops
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! RT @VinParise: According to league sources, the Bulls are drafting Tyshawn Taylor from Kansas tonight with the 29th pick.
Just ran across this on Twitter.

TT would fit in well there. He could play with Rose at the 2, or play the 1 when Rose gets hurt, again.

Dunno why ppl are so pissed about this pick....he's getting drafted on basically the same premise as MKG and everyones all over that kids johnson. He's got elite speed or elite reach or my favorite one "he's a winner". Same reason the bulls want TT, he's got elite speed...hes actually a decent shooter and an elite finisher and he has the attributes to be an elite defender. And he's by no means a small PG, he's 6'3. Nuff said. I dunno how you look at Beal shooting 34 percent from 3 and take him number 2, and then bitch about getting a guy like TT at 29. Beyond me.
(I am by no means comparing the two, just saying teams draft on potential)
biggest bullshit line in sports "he's a winner" ...winners in HS basketball and stacked college teams mean exactly shit in the NBA, hell LeBron was a "winner".

Why are you saying this is a bad thing. He might even start at the beginning of the season because rose wont be ready yet.

I, too, would love for Self to be there for TRob (& TT), but I am not a fan of the way Calipari does it. JMO, but I feel like everything he does has ulterior motives, none of them sincere. When everything you say and do looks/feels like a marketing ploy, it smacks of insincerity & pompous self promotion. Maybe he is a great guy in person, but his actions (to me) speak otherwise.

Actually they let CJ Watson go too so they actually need a 2. So if TT plays well enough he might even be on the floor with Rose at times.

Who is Scott Phillips & why should I care what his opinion is? (which I find ridiculous by the way)

Just plz let the bobcats take Robinson at 2. IDC about the draft position, but they dont have a starting caliber player on that team. He'd start from Day 1. Unless they trade the pick away, then I think he might end up all the way at 9 with the Pistons.
And how bout Terrence Jones falling to Dallas!? that would be awesome.

I wish T Rob would get picked up by just about anyone EXCEPT charlotte. I understand he'd start immediately, but I'd prefer he go to a team where he might actually have a realistic chance to WIN some games too.

I've been debating about the same thing with myself. Plus side he'd likely start and I think him and Kemba could be a good duo, but I'm not that fond of him being on a team that could struggle to break .500 next season. But I've decided it'd likely be a good fit since he won't be shelved like Cole and Marcus (not saying he would, but it's alot less likely if he goes to the Bobcats) also I think his personality could help spark the team.

I was also surprised that TT had slid to top of the 2nd round in some good pre draft sites along with the "rise" of Kimberly English! Anyone else think the start of ESPN's show looked like a Kentucky recruiting video?

The funny thing is there isnt an elite or for that matter GOOD player on that team, and they go out and draft a defender with limited offense. lol. These guys deserve to be terrible.
I still have the feeling that you cant teach offense, scoring is instinctive. Yea he can work on his jumper but other than that I just dont see how if you havent developed SOME kind of offense by the time your 19...thinking he's gonna do it in a couple of years is just stupid.
1. Davis
2. MKG
3. Beal
4. Waiters?
I hope that Thomas works his f'in ass off to be a great pro.

Waiters, wow. Im not a fan of his character but Cousins and Robinson would be a nice front court in Sac-town.
