C'mon guys, I'll take Norm Roberts or Jerrance Howard whether they can bring Chris Walker and Jabari Parker or not! I mean, it'd be great if they could, but I'll take both of them either way.

Highly unlikely that Self just dumps Townsend. He is very loyal to his assistants. I would love to be able to add Brown, Roberts, Howard. It's just not gonna happen.

I agree that we won't dump anybody, but we still could all end up happy. Manning needs an experienced bench coach on his staff. Maybe he takes Townsend with him, with Self's "blessing," of course.

That what be a huge pay decrease for Townsend going from asst at KU to asst at Tulsa (plus it would be going backwards in working towards getting a head coach position)

Townsend will never be a head coach and i don't think he has any desire to be.
Anyone know if Dooley has interest in the Tennessee St. opening, created when John Cooper took the Miami, OH job or maybe the FIU opening?

I think it's crazy you guys are saying drop Townsend. I mean KU has basically had the greatest run in program history this last decade and your saying drop an assistant coach? I understand he isnt the best recruiter but life as a KU fan is good and why mess with a good thing. I'm excited to see what self is gonna do with his coaching roster and all the incoming talent.

I am not saying to drop Townsend at all, that would be stupid. However it is a known fact that Dooley is agressively looking to be a head coach in the very near future.
If Dooley were to leave for a head coaching position, I would be very happy for him because he deserves it. If this were to happen and we could bring in Norm and Howard, then have Wayne step into the Dir. of operations position, we would have upgraded our staff greatly!!
