Way too early Top 25
Andy Katz just tweeted a link to the story of their top 25, which they say will change as kids declare and commits are made. Indiana at 1 as long as Zeller doesn't leave, but we are at 3. I think that's a fair place right now. What do you guys think?

Wouldn't doubt Self. We're all going to love Perry...but he's going to get a baptism by fire next year. He's going to have to score in Self's offense. But can't wait to see Ben play and I'm excited about White and Jamari too! Future's still bright. F---the OAD. Give Self his raise and let's get at it again! Reload.

i was thinking in the 3 to 7 range. definitely can't wait until next year. excited for the core of seniors with the freshmen (this year's and next year's). also excited to find out who the new assistants are going to be.

Thomas Robinson is going to be hard to replace but to me the key guy is Jeff Withey. He changes the game dynamically. After this year of college bball it is hard to deny that having a good big man and point guard means everything! (Or a whole lot)
All of the great teams this year had those two things in common.
So lets see, help me out on this Jayhawks
C-Jeff Withey (backup if he declares?) Wesley?
PF-Perry Ellis
SF-Releford
SG-McLemore
PG-EJ/ Tharpe
Yeah I would say you guys have a pretty good team next year.
I just hope this momentum doesn't help Kentucky with their targets. Can you imagine...
1. Nerleans Noel (Anthony Davis 2.0) - Willie Cauley
2. Kyle Wiltjer - Anthony Bennett *BEast!
3. Alex Poythress (beast at Mcdonalds AA)
4. Shabazz Muhammad - Archie Goodwin
5. Ryan HArrow (already spent a year learning kentucky's system, this kid has unbelievable quicks and is better than any 2012 PG)
Obviously they probably won't land all three targets, but even landing shabazz puts them as favoirtes in my book. This is of course if everyone leaves, not sure how good they would be if the guys stayed... I don't want this trend to continue...

To be honest....without Davis this team is good, not great. And they have 2 sophomores that didnt leave and a senior helping them. Congrats to this years team they deserved this title.
But to think they are gonna do this every year just isnt plausible...unless they happened to land Bazz and Noel and they play unbelievably well all year they arent gonna be the favorites.
I hate to say this but I'm actually a big Ryan Harrow fan, he has some crazy good handles...I'll actually be excited to see him play.

According to KU Sports, Johnson and Withey are "definitely" coming back next year along with Releford. That's a great nucleus coming back.
My guess for starting 5
PG-EJ
SG-McLemore (will be more ready and polished than other newcomers)
SF-Releford
PF-Ellis/Traylor
C-Withey
Bench:
Tharpe
White
Young
Lucas/Peters
Adams?
If Tony Parker or a transfer like Orikahi (doubtful) comes in, can challenge for TRob's opening spot. I don't expect TRob coming back, I just don't see it...I'll always love him! I just believe he has nothing else to prove and he is a sure top 5 pick. Manning is gone too.

I agree except I would probably switch Tharpe and Adams. I'm really excited for White and Mclemore. If you add them in with Releford and EJ, we are going to be able to cause matchup nightmares for pretty much anyone that we play.

I have kept Adams at the third PG spot due to the questions on eligibility and I think Self will go to Tharpe who has had a year in the KU system early in the season over a freshman with no experience. Maybe later in the season after some coaching and development Adams might move up to the 2 spot but we will see.

Is it just me or is Adams eerily similar to Ty Taylor? I haven't seen Adams play, but I have heard few things like he's one of the quickest guards in 2012. Adams is more of a combo guard, great size for a point guard, but little undersized for a NBA shooting guard. I believe Taylor was recruited as a combo guard coming out high school. He wasn't a starting PG at St. Anthony's. Maybe, we just got a big steal in Adams?

I agree. I think Adams may start as a sophomore unless Frankamp is unstoppable.

I think frankamp is going to break out nationally next year. Maybe even a McDonald's AA and a state championship.

He was on the USA team so I think the sky is the limit for him. We could be crazy deep at PG if Freeman joins with Frankamp plus Tharpe (as a Jr) and the possible development of Adams (possibly Taylor 2.0 as a So)

Well maybe they're going to ride the momentum they gained in the NIT into next season...I mean, they lost in the first round...at home...to Bucknell...but maybe that was one of those good losses.

Adams very comparable to TT. Same height, very athletic.

Luke Winn is an idiot. I know he's trying to show everybody that he put a lot of time and effort into his rankings, but it's foolish to have Zona at #9, Memphis at #10, Creighton at #14, Notre Dame at #15, and VCU at #16, while placing the Jayhawks at #17 and Ohio State at #19.
