Monday night
Visit The Shiver on occasion as some knowledge folks here. Lots of trash talk going around and all for it, but have to say damn impressed with the Jayhawk tourney run this year and congrats to them. Certainly not the same team I saw in December and not a team I expected UK to be facing tomorrow night as recently as 3 weeks ago. What a fun team to watch and certainly expect them to bring it again tomorrow night.
Tomorrow night is what the tourney is all about...two historic programs battling it out on the court. Confident the Cats will win #8, and Lexington will celebrate with drunkenness and nudity, not vandalism but if we happen not to, at least we all have more #kuboobs to look forward to. Here's to a good one!

It should be a great game. Good luck with your couch burnings in Lexington.

Let's get it on! One thing is correct, we definitely have boobs and UK will just try to follow in our footsteps just like everything else!

So this is that trash talk I was referring to... Following in footsteps? Banners 7 to 3, UK... all time wins, UK. Head to head wins, UK. Let's get it on indeed! T-minus 10hrs...
In all seriousness, check out Bob Ryan's article on this battle of titans in today's Boston Globe.

Before it becomes an issue, the reference to 3 banners is what ESPN is using, happy enough to concede 5. And I know Rupp started at Kansas, so did Cal.

I really never counted our helms titles...even if you do Kentucky has 3 to our 2....so in reality its more like 10 titles to 5 titles. And really to be fair, you've only won 3 in the last 50 years....not exactly a model of consistency.
The head to head matchup I dont care for b/c if you know anything about history Rupp refused to play Kansas for a very long time and it happened to be in an era where that matchup record could very easily have been dead even.
On paper Kentucky is the best college basketball program in history, Ive never argued otherwise....UCLA has a ton of titles but again if you know anything about history its pretty much a given those teams were all but bought and paid for by boosters in a time when that kinda thing wasnt nearly as scrutinized as it is now. Thats why I was never really a big John Wooden fan.
Thats why I never have and never will consider UCLA a blue blood. Everyones had their issues but that 12-13 year stretch is easily the most corrupt in college bball history and it just happened to define an era.
We care more about the historical significance this university has and as far as I know, UK has never had hall of fame players the caliber that KU has had...Mainly Pierce and Chamberlain.
The biggest thing about KU ball and the thing we are all most proud of....is its the historical grandfather to basically all basketball. Aside from being invented in mass. pretty much everything else came from this University.
And UK has had an unbelievable last 3 years and will have plenty more...and more than likely a trophy case full of titles. But KU's last 22 years are probably the best college bball has ever had. Even though I feel we should have at least won 2 more titles.

Yep. I think we'll continue this dominance for at least as long as Self is here, and get some more of them shiny trophies.

This is the happy back and forth trash talking I love. I hate the name calling and personal attacks.
This thread made me smile.

Dude, I was being completely sarcastic! Just having fun! Look, this isn't the typical Kansas team we've seen in recent years from a talent standpoint. I am tickled as all get out to be in the Championship! The last two years Kansas should have been there and didn't get it done. This year, they shouldn't be there and they are there. Let me know when anybody sees a trend in all this!
Even with a loss, it will be hard to muster another NCAA tournament Championship loss. This is the 9th Championship game for Kansas and if they lose tonight...............................that will be 3 for 6 in Championship games! Uggggggggggggggg! The crazy thing is that Kansas has 3 Title loss games by a combined 5 points! Uggggggggg again! Let's get this done tonight!

Coming soon to a 3rd world country...
Hawks4Life, I will take UK's last 20 year stretch of 2 (soon to be 3) titles, 6 Final Fours, and 6 more years in the Elite 8. If we could only erase the Gillispie years.....
KUShaw, good natured jabs, no worries. This is more in the same vein.
Coming soon to a third world country near you....
