yeah it sounds like it will be official at the 3 PM Press conference. Being reported everywhere

Gotta love Pullen's tweets
“@Jpullz0: Bruce Webber didn't think I was good enough to play at Illinois and I don't think he is good enough to coach at Kansas State

Wow...that tweet is hilarious. It'll be interesting to read other responses to this as well.

The thing is he seems like a likeable guy but he can't recruit at this level. He won with Self's players and the past cpl years we have seen the fruits of what he can get on the recruiting trail which is sa because Chicago is in his backyard aND A very fertile recruiting bed and he couldn't land players from there.

How is he going to recruit to Manhatten with Kansas down the road?

This is a bad hire IMO! Wow!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I kind of like the hire. Weber's a universally liked coach; other coaches always say he's a good guy and clean recruiter. I think in the end he just got ate up by Chicago and the Illinois pressure. Hopefully he returns to his mid-major roots, goes after the under-appreciated, three or four-year recruits, and builds a program instead of just a season or two. Either way, I think we need more challenge in the Big 12, which we really haven't had since Sutton, Sampson, and Knight were around and Barnes' teams were doing better. No offense to Missouri and Baylor, but they've got to be some of the lamest rivals around.

Hey, you make some valid points but do you really believe Weber will put K-State in a position to challenge KU like Martin (sort of) did?

Weber seems like a slightly improved version of Tom Asbury...a good mid-major coach who will not be able to get high level talent to The Little Apple. HCBS will actually enjoy putting a clown suit on whenever he gets the chance.

Ouch:

Jeff Goodman ? @GoodmanCBS
Kansas State needs to understand what it is. No big-time current coach was coming to Manhattan. Bruce Weber is good move.

Too funny..someone on kusports posted this.....

If you are successful at Illinois you can coach at Kansas. If you fail at Illinois you can coach at Kansas State.

Webber caught some tough breaks at Illinois. I think he's a good coach. He had Jereme Richmond leave when it is obvious that he shoulda stayed. It's tough to lose a mcdonalds all american when youre counting on him. He also had eric gordon committed, but he changed his mind at the last second. He never really dealt well w/ the chicago recruiting. And that city's basketball recruiting is as corrupt as it gets.

Weber is a great xs and Os coach but a terrible motivator and injuries somewhat plagued him at Ill. I think it's a good hire too remember him at southern ill he killed it. You all watch he will be much better at Kstate now he doesn't have to go against Kentucky Indiana in recruiting all the time. Every player of his said he's a great coach.
