Default Kansas basketball in my dreams

In 2008 when Kansas won the title I had a dream that they would. I really thought because of that is the reason why they won (not really). Every year since then I have had a dream that they were defeated by a mid major in the tournament. About a month ago I had a dream that they won it all against Kentucky. Also in my dream T-Rob did not get the NPOTY but still looked happy hoisting the trophy. I no this is nonsense but still fun. It got me thinking though.

Did or do you guys remember anything that happened in 2008 to lead you to believe they would win it that year? Or has anything happened this year to lead you to believe they will win.

the 2008 team was one of the most complete college basketball teams I've ever seen. We had 4 or 5 guys who could score almost at will, plus two or three really solid role players who could be counted on to score a healthy amount. Add to that the fact that they played crippling defense and could, to quote Clark Kellogg, "turn your water off", and there wasn't a weakness. Plus they had a killer instinct and loved to humiliate the other team.

This year, I don't think we have that killer instinct or the bench to make us a favorite, but because no one is really head and shoulders above the pack (UK being the closest, but far from a lock), I think we have a decent shot. I'm not expecting a final four, but I'm not ruling it out either. In Self we trust...

This team compares more to the 1988 team.

We need some luck and a different hawk to step up every game to ride out to the championship.

Anything can happen with the right matchups. Rock Chalk!

I just like this team b/c I always thought we coulda played tougher schedules...the last 2 or 3 years I just never thought we were battle tested enough....and when we got in trouble in the tournament we just looked lost.

This team excites me b/c they've been in WARS all year, when the game is tight they know who to go to and what to do, I think this team with the right matchups can get to the FF. Beating Kentucky is something entirely different but if we made a FF with this team to me it'd feel like we won the NC.

I've heard a ton of ppl say if this team made the final four, theyd feel like they won the nat'l championship, and while you may be telling the truth and fully believe it, I'm gonna have to tell you that youre wrong. If this team won the Nat'l championship, we'd all be on cloud 9. We'd be in a utopia that would last months. If we made the final four, the team would have exceeded our expectations, but there'd be no party on mass street and there'd be a lot less ppl missing work the next day.

As I said before I think this team has a real shot to win the title. College basketball as a whole is not that good this year. Last year when Connecticut won it they did not have a deep bench. A deep bench imo is overrated in the tournament. Play the best 6 players and go at it for 40 minutes.
