Happy 50th Wilt Chamberlain........
Today is the 50th anniversary of Wilt scoring 100 points in a game! Simply Remarkable! I don't care what anbody says............Wilt is the #1 Jayhawk of all time!

I love how no other school can claim without a doubt that their best alum is better than ours. Granted guys like Jordan, Russell, Magic, Bird, etc. had legendary NBA careers as well, no former/current NBA player was/is clearly better than Wilt (and few are even in the conversation). Someday, somebody may score 100+ points in a game, but NOBODY...I repeat NOBODY will ever average 50 and 25 for a season. Let me put that in perspective, if you take Tim Duncan's best statistical season and double all of his numbers (25 pts and 12.7 reb per game) it would equal Wilt's best statistical season. That, ladies and gentlemen, is domination Kansas-style. ROCK CHALK!!!!

I read today that Wilt once scored 60 against Bill Russell in the NBA.
Its one thing to dominate smaller lesser opponents, but Wilt had great games against one of the most dominating defensive centers in NBA history.

Statistically speaking Wilt dominated Russell unfortunately the titles went mostly the other way.

The other amazing thing about his 100 point game & his game averages is that there was not a 3 point shot back then. He did all that with 2 point shots!
Now that's a game changer! (wink, wink)

Here are just a few of the 71 NBA records he holds currently.
Most consecutive triple doubles (9)
Only player with a quadruple double-double (he has 5) (40+ of 2 stats)
Only player with a double-triple-double (he had 22 pts, 25 reb, 21 assists)
Highest single season scoring average (50.4)
Most points in a season (4029)
Most 50 point games in a single season (45)
Most 40 point games in a single season (63)
Most consecutive 50 point games (7)
Most consecutive 40 point games (14)
Most consecutive 30 point games (65)
Fewest games played to reach 20,000 points (499), MJ next with 620
Most FTs made in a game (28)
Most career rebounds (23,924)
Highest career rebounding avg (22.9)
Most rebounds in a game (55)
Highest FG percentage in a season (72.7%)
Of note, he is 2nd and even 3rd on most of those records as well. Also they didn’t officially track blocks then but people did it on the side and he consistently registered 15-20 per game and even over 30 once. So people estimate that he had tons of quadruble-doubles as well.

He also led the league in assists once. I think he's the only center to do that but I could be wrong.

What can't be overlooked is the fact that Wilt scored with 2.3 women a day. Even if he embellished a bit, it'll still be another record that will never be touched. Rock Chalk Jayhawk. lol
