Default Drew/Self Feud escalating?

Here is the SI article talking about Baylor's athletic department and Self comes up.

You mind posting the Self part here so I don't have to dig through all of that.

The magazine says: “It’s no coincidence that Self’s loathing of Drew and Texas coach Rick Barnes’ jibes at him (Drew) increased with Baylor’s wins.”

Self’s response to the Journal-World: “I don’t read all the articles, but my wife showed me this one — something that was written that was inaccurate. I’ve never spoken to the writer, but obviously he got his information somewhere else that I think was definitely not accurate of the feelings of any coach in our league.”

Let me help that writer out. Here's how it should've read: “It’s no coincidence that Self’s loathing of Drew and Texas coach Rick Barnes’ jibes at him (Drew) increased with Drew's bullshit negative recruiting tactics.”

I'm sure Self (and Barnes) would agree with this (off the record).

The only real feud in this league is between Barnes and Drew. That is the only substantiated "feud" where there are actual quotes from both sides of that line that are disparaging to the other.

Self has never said a bad word about Drew as far as I know. Drew has never said a bad word about Kansas or Self as far as I know. Nothing concrete.

That doesn't mean he isn't using shady practices to get players to Baylor and what not, just that there is no public feud between anyone other than Drew and Barnes and I think that has been squashed.

I have to take you to task a bit. Drew has negatively recruited vs. Kansas in the past. When he pointed out to the parents of a recruit (incorrectly) that KU was last in the conference in graduating its' players.

It's not so much the shady practices...it's the negative crap that comes out of his program. And it's usually followed up with a line like this from Drew when he's caught: "We had some incorrect information on that."

What boggles my mind the most about Drew and Baylor is how he can get all that talent and do nothing with it year after year.

Let's just call it how it is. NOT ONLY do Bill Self and Rick Barnes not like the idiot, he is BY FAR the most disliked coach amongst his peers in the Big XII.

There, I said it. Now then......if he could actually coach, I might concern myself with him. But alas, it has become obvious over the years that he is not nearly as good at coaching kids as he is at selling them snake oil.

How much longer is it going to be before recruits realize that Drew isn't helping players get better? I mean how much has PJ3 hurt himself by coming back this year? He hasn't improved, if anything he's regressed.

Eventually, recruits will see that despite the high promises Drew is making, if they want to become better players, then they need to play for a better coach.

I think it all comes full circle. Drew has been using negative recruiting tactics.....and at the same time giving opposing coaches plenty of ammo to use negatively against him.

Coaches can now use Perry Jones as an example. They can use the fact that he's never finished better than 3rd in the league, yet has had some of the leagues most talented teams. They can use that foolish zone defense against him. Basically, it's only a matter of time before he gets figured out. If his team flames out in the first weekend of the NCAA's, that's REALLY gonna hurt him.
