PJIII Article by King
Disturbing blurb about a disturbed KU fan. I know they are a small minority, but people need to remember, these are young adults/old kids, not professionals. Root hard for your team, but remember the players are playing hard for your entertainment, they don't need your abuse:

Yea, I wasn't impressed with that KU "fan" either. It's unfortunate, but there is not a fanbase around that can claim that their fans are always & forever well-behaved, well meaning individuals. Every group has their idiots, no one is immune.

OK..I get the KU connection...but if all you come away with after reading that article is offense at that particular reference..then it is a pretty sad commentary...the real story is the journey this family has endured..I don't particulary care for the Baylor program..but I have newfound respect for PJ3..I wish him the best of luck and hope he ends up making million$ for himself and his family...fandom aside a really excellent read for those who can get past the first paragraph..

I agree Blue, if we all felt the need to apologize for the antics of one fan nobody would have any time to rest. I also have a little different feel for the kid after reading that. It really demonstrated how these are indeed "kids". I especially felt bad for him about how he was excited to get a B and instead of congratulating him someone or someones had to say that his efforts should be more focused on basketball.

For the record, I too, was impressed with all that he has gone through & how well he has/is handling it.
I refuse to bad mouth any player, regardless of who they play for, and Perry's story reinforces that stance. None of us knows what a player or recruits' background is & what they have had to sacrifice, go through & endure to get where they are today. They all deserve respect & should be allowed to enjoy their college years, however long or short that may be.

Sounds like quite the rough upbringing filled with challenges. I, however, will continue to call him soft on the court until he proves otherwise. He doesn't like to bang or go inside that much. Seems much more content to shoot jump shots. Just because someone ahd a rough life does not mean they are not soft on the court.

That wasn't the point, which is why I mentioned it as a "blurb".

Well, he certainly cost himself and his family a lot of $$$ by coming back. He's incredibly soft.

He might be a little soft on the court but from what I gather he is far from a wus off the court. Takes a lot of strength of character to admit you need more work, to mature before you are ready to make millions of dollars.

The guy has probably been through more hard times as a middle school kid and a high school stuff than any of us have ever been through. To have the focus where you wonder how your family will eat that night, but still be able to play hard on the court is enviable. The fact he became a top recruit and top NBA prospect is very impressive given those conditions. Fairly similar to our own TRob actually.
