Michael Rose
was on hand for the Spring Game on Saturday and I caught up with the Stud LB from Rockhurst earlier today, he had some interesting things to say.
On his visit "I enjoyed the visit it went well, I was glad to see Dex(ter Mcdonald) and Darrian (Miller) yesterday."
The fact that Dexter McDonald and Darian Miller are Jayhawks is very appealing to Michael. Rose on how having McDonald and Miller are affecting his decision "That (is important) and the fact that it is less than 30 minutes away. Plus coach Gill, Torbush, Mitchell."
Darrian and Dexter are doing some recruiting themselves. Rose on what Miller and Mcdonald have been telling him about KU "They love it, they want me to come. My only problem is winning, thats it. Like the coaches said they believe I could make an immediate impact on th field."
If Kansas begins to win this year things could really heat up for KU and Rose. Rose on how he would view Kansas if they won some more games this year. " A lot more, I love it. It would be nice to turn a program around 180 and get them consistantly a winner. That would be great." Rose added "Not a number (of wins he wants to see) but a showing of being more competitive especially wth Texas OU and A&M."
Even though Rose has recently reaffirmed his commitment to Nebraska he is still considering two other schools Kansas and USC. If Kansas can somehow pul this one out they would be not only grabbing one of the best Linebackers in teh country, but beating out two traditional titans of the gridiron to gain his services

Why???
Not to be negative just honest. He clearly stated he wants to play for a winner. KU is not going to win this year. Best case is probably 5 wins. Hopefully we will be more competitive, but not sure it can get any worse...

What I took from it is that he wants to see progress towards becoming a winner. He said he wants to see the improvement, not necessarily measured in actual victories. He wants a team that looks like it is ready to win by the time he gets there.

just the way he talks about us... he really likes coach gill....and as long as we dont get blown out of the water we will be in it till the end

Rose would also be a huge pick up because it would prove to the other big time recruits that KU is a place that won't back down from anyone of any caliber.
