It’s that time of year once again. That’s right – the big game. The game to win it all. The game that is played in front of all the world to see. No, not that big game between the Patriots and Giants. It’s Missouri’s annual big game. Their title game. Their game of all games. The powerhouse college basketball program just to the west of Columbia, MO is coming to town and that means that Mizzou Arena on Saturday night and for the first time in years, the match-up will be between two top 10 teams.

Kansas is very familiar with being ranked in the top 10 and considered one of the teams that has a shot at winning it all at the end of the season. Missouri hasn’t experienced the same success as Kansas on a year in year out basis, but for the #4 ranked Tigers, this year is different and they hope to prove that Saturday night in the final game against Kansas to be played in Columbia. Meet the coaches!

Kansas football has entered a new era with the hiring of Charlie Weis to be the man to lead the KU program back to a competitive level. The hiring of Weis was just the big name coach the Kansas football needed, along with his years of experience and Super Bowl rings too. Weis has put together a staff of coaches that he believes will help him both on the field, but also in recruiting. On Thursday many members of the coaching staff met with the media to talk about the future of Kansas football.

Post Game Press Conference – Oklahoma

The Kansas Jayhawks cruised to an easy 84-62 win over the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday night by putting on an offensive show in the final 20 minutes of the game. Kansas, who only led by 3 at halftime, shot 71.4% from the field in the second half on their way to the blow out win. Much of their second half scoring came in the paint as the Jayhawks scored 32 of their 46 points in the paint.

Get to Know the Recruits: Ty McKinney

The defensive line for the Jayhawks is receiving a much needed boost with this years recruiting class. One of those new signees is defensive tackle Ty McKinney. McKinney is a compact 6’3”, 300lbs and is known for his power and strength against the run but is dominant at times in disrupting the pass.

McKinney is a transfer from Trinity Valley Junior College and will have 3 years to play two. Read the rest of this entry »

Kansas Head Coach Bill Self has moved past his Jayhawks falling last Saturday at Iowa State, and is now ready to see his Kansas team add to their win total Wednesday night when Oklahoma visits Lawrence.
