The Kansas Jayhawks rolled past the Kansas State Wildcats in the championship game of the Big XII tournament en route to a 72-64 victory in Kansas City.  The Kansas bigs were the key against the Wildcats yet again, as Marcus Morris led the way for the Jayhawks with 18 points.  The No. 1 Jayhawks improved to 32-2 on the year, while Kansas State dropped to 26-7. KU recorded its fifth straight victory, as well as its 18th win in the last 19 games. The Kansas Jayhawks were able to overcome another sluggish first half to come alive down the stretch en route to a 79-66 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in the Big XII Tournament semi finals.  The Jayhawks improved to 31-2 and advance to the Big XII championship game for the third time in 4 years.  Texas A&M drops to 23-9 and will more than likely be a top 5 seed in the NCAA tournament.  Bill Self also won his 200th game as the Jayhawks head coach and now has a 200-42 record as the skipper.  Kansas will play the winner of the Baylor/Kansas State semi final on Saturday, which will be televised on ESPN at 5PM CST. The Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team returns to the Sprint Center in Kansas City to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders for their opening round game of the Big XII tournament.   The Jayhawks enter the game looking for their 2,000th win in program history and to work on securing the overall number one seed in the NCAA tournament.  The Jayhawks are looking to improve to 30-2, before  hopefully playing  the winner of the Texas A&M/Nebraska game in the semifinals.  Texas Tech enters this game with a pedestrian 17-14 record and they are hoping to get back on the winning track after losing their final 7 Big XII games of the regular season.  Thursday’s game will be televised on the Big XII Network at 11:30AM CST. The Kansas Jayhawks head to Columbia, Missouri Saturday to finish out their regular season and are looking to continue their dominance over their heated rival, the Missouri Tigers in the Border Showdown. The Jayhawks are looking to improve to 29-2 and 15-1 in Big XII play, before  heading into the Big XII tournament in Kansas City next Thursday as the #1 seed.  Missouri enters this game with a 22-8 record and are tied for 4th place in the Big XII with a 10-5 record.  Saturday’s game will be televised on CBS at 1PM CST.
