ESPN 150 Watch List defensive back, Bernard Thomas, saw his Blue Springs High School teammate, running back Darrian Miller, commit to the Kansas Jayhawks, and now Kansas fans are hoping that the 5′10″ 175 pound cornerback will follow Miller to Lawrence. Kansas sitting high on top DB’s list
A look at the Jayhawks first 2011 commit
Blue Springs High School running back, Darrian Miller, became the first 2011 football commit last week when he decided that Kansas was the place for him. Miller, who is the current Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year, just felt at home during his visits to Lawrence. Now Kansas fans can check out some of Miller’s junior season highlights, a season where Miller ran for over 2,700 yards.
Selby will not make it to Lexington
The #7 player in the ESPNU 100, Josh Selby, will not be in Lexington, Kentucky this weekend according to his mother, Maeshon Witherspoon. After suffering a heartbreaking loss in the state tournament on Thursday, Selby just wasn’t up for traveling to Lexington this weekend. The visit hasn’t been rescheduled as of yet, but Kentucky remains on Selby’s list of four schools he’s currently considering. Arizona, UCONN and Kansas make up the other three schools on the list.
Kansas felt just like home for Miller
Kansas Head Coach, Turner Gill, and staff kicked off the 2011 commitment list with a big name on Wednesday when Blue Springs High School running back, Darrian Miller, decided to verbally commit to the Jayhawks. Gill generates his own buzz at KU
LAWRENCE, Kan. — He lists Jesus and Tom Osborne as his biggest mentors, and if you ask just about anyone from Turner Gill’s old stomping grounds up the plains, both of those men could walk on water. But this isn’t about Nebraska anymore. It’s about leaving and moving forward. Gill is walking into his new office at the University of Kansas, and it’s spacious and beautiful aside from the fact that it overlooks a football field currently covered in snow and ice.
