Schyler Miles is a rare sight in the world of Kansas Football. Not only is he one of the few Florida athletes that sign up to play football in Kansas but Miles may end up a leader of the
Jayhawks defense as a freshman—an even rarer occurrence.
Nearly every defensive coach I have talked to about Miles instantly glowed at the mention of his name. Whether it was Coach Charlie Weis speaking of Miles on a personal level or defensive coordinator Dave Campo boasting about the young linebacker’s rare mix of instincts and intelligence the end result was the same: this kid could be special.
Slated to arrive on campus in June, Miles will likely push for the starting inside linebacker job. At 6’2” and 220lbs, Miles is self admittedly not the biggest or strongest linebacker prospect but he may end up being a difference maker for Kansas in 2012 and certainly beyond.
