Cory Jones: “It was the best choice”

When campers that attend KU’s Super Jayhawk camp have the opportunity to spend a day on the campus of the University of Kansas, most leave Lawrence impressed with the Kansas program. Campers have the opportunity to see the school, the football facilities, and be coached by members of the Kansas staff. All things that help many of them decide that Kansas is where they want to play football and go to school. Such is the case with Mitchell High School (TN) DE/LB Cory Jones, who decided to end his recruitment by committing to the Jayhawks on Monday. Read the rest of this entry »
Quick Football Recruiting Tidbits

Although Kansas commit Jacoby Walker wasn’t able to make his way to Lawrence this past weekend for Super Jayhawk camp, Walker is busy working his tail off at home preparing for his upcoming season and his arrival on campus during the semester break. Arriving on campus in time for spring ball is something that Walker has been working for. By doing so, Walker is able to get into the workout program faster and start getting to know the playbook a few months earlier than he would have if he were to arrive in June.
“Yep, that’s what I’m trying to do,” Walker said about being ahead of the curve by arriving at semester.
Walker’s teammate Aaron Harris was also hoping to make it Lawrence last weekend, but like Walker, was unable to make the trip. Harris does have great interest in Kansas, and is hoping to hear more from the Jayhawks. By looking at Aaron’s film, it’s not hard to figure out why schools are interested in Harris who “gets the quarterback.”
The Jayhawks lost out on one recruit, linebacker Trayvon Henry who has committed to the Sooners. Another state of Oklahoma product, Julian Wilsonreceived a scholarship offer from the Sooners today. According to Wilson, he didn’t commit to the Sooners, but does plan on visiting soon and plans on being in Lawrence when the Sooner and Jayhawks face off this fall.
Super Jayhawk Camp Highlights

There were a lot of football players that made their way to Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday for the Super Jayhawk Camp held at the University of Kansas. Every player in attendance cherished the opportunity to get some of the finest instruction around by attending the camp, and the Kansas coaching staff didn’t disappoint.

Hutchinson High School (Ks) star Geneo Grissom became the first 2010 in state recruit to make the decision to head to be a Kansas Jayhawk the other day. Tonight, TheShiver.com caught a few minutes with Hutchinson Head Coach Randy Dreiling, and his defensive star as they are at their team camp in Pittsburg, Kansas preparing for their upcoming season.
