Kansas and Florida on top for Staten

DSC_0071Shawnee, KS – - In his first tournament back after spending time at his grandmothers side in his native Alabama, Wesley Staten, the #15 ranked PG in the 2012 class, looked every bit like a top rated guard in the country early Friday morning at the Hoops City Classic. The 6′1″ 165 pound guard from Iowa has always been considered as a player who can put the ball in the basket at will, but what stood out the most when watching Staten, was his ability to get his teammates involved throughout the morning. mclemoreWe made our way over to the Memphis Super Shootout, this time to see the #9 ranked player in the ESPNU Top 100 Ben McLemore. Once again the 6’4” 185 pound guard from St. Louis left us shaking our heads in amazement, but one of the biggest surprises was an outstanding lead guard by the name of Lonnie McClanahan.

Bigs Shine in Day 1 of Showdown

kouassi Memphis, TN – – Thursday, July 8th marked the opening day of the 2nd annual River City Showdown in Memphis, TN. After a highly successful inaugural tournament, which featured Division I signees like Joe Jackson, Casey Prather, Tarik Black, Chris Crawford, and Austin Hollins, this year’s teams have mighty big shoes to fill. In day one of the Showdown, big men Willy Kouassi (2011, Birmingham, AL) and Nino Johnson (2011, Memphis, TN) were the first to willingly step up to the challenge.

Rivers “Definitely” Visiting KU

As first reported by TheShiver over Twitter, Rivers has definitive plans to visit Lawrence.
