HAMPTON, Va. – Justin Jackson has been considered one of the best prospects in the class of 2014 for quite some time. A teammate of Justise Winslow on the AAU circuit with the U17 Houston Hoops squad, Jackson has continued to improve his game as time has gone by.

The Shiver had the chance to speak with Jackson, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward out of HCYA (TX), while at Session #2 of the Nike EYBL this weekend.

Jackson said that he holds scholarship offers from Ohio State, Washington, Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech (former staff), Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor. Kansas one of many for Pinson

HAMPTON, Va. – Theo Pinson is one of the best long term prospects in the nation due to his impressive blend of athleticism, length and overall skill. The 6-foot-6, 185-pound small forward is elite member of a 2014 class that is loaded at the top.

The Shiver had the opportunity to catch up with Pinson this past weekend in Virginia, where he was with the CP3 All-Stars for Session #2 of the Nike EYBL.

Pinson listed scholarship offers from Syracuse, Tennessee, Alabama, Duke, Louisville, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Florida State, and the former Virginia Tech staff. A 6-foot-5, 208-pound small forward out of St. John’s (TX), Winslow took the time to speak with The Shiver on Sunday at Session #2 of the Nike EYBL, where he was with U17 Houston Hoops squad.

Julius Randle update from Boo Williams

HAMPTON, Va. — Julius Randle is arguably the best high school basketball player in the United States regardless of class. The 6-foot-8 rising senior out of Prestonwood Christian (TX) has nearly every major school in the nation after him, including Kansas.

The Shiver had the opportunity to speak with the class of 2013 star this weekend at the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Va., where Randle is with the Texas Titans.

Top 2013 prospects talk KU

In order for elite programs to remain such, they must recruit and sign the nation’s elite players. The University of Kansas is one of the most prestigious basketball schools in country and thus it makes sense that the Jayhawks are in the running for arguably the top three players in the class of 2013.

In addition to Jabari Parker, who has KU in his top five, Bill Self and Co. are also coming after Julius Randle and Nerlens Noel. Randle, a 6-foot-8, 243-pound power forward, and Noel, a 6-foot-11, 215-pound center, both spoke with The Shiver while at the LeBron James Skills Academy. Read the rest of this entry »
