Three point shot could be the key for Kansas

1415kuWith players such as Cole Aldrich, Darnell Jackson and Darrell Arthur, a tough, beat-em-down, high-low offense comes to mind when thinking of a Bill Self led Kansas team. However the 3-point shot may be the key for Kansas’ success this season. 

While the 3-pointer is usually thought to be Dukish, or for desperate mid-majors looking for an upset, it’s hard to deny the Jayhawks’ 3-point shooting this season.  Fourteen games into the season, Kansas is already averaging 18.3 3-pointers per game, the highest of any Bill Self coached Kansas team. KansasNo matter what website or scouting service you look at, Perry Ellis of Wichita Heights (KS) and JP Tokoto of Menomonee Falls (WI) are listed as two of top players in the class of 2012. McLemore Becoming a Household Name

mclemore 1This past weekend standout guard Ben McLemore competed in the annual Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence, Kansas.  He missed his team, the St. Louis Eagles, first game on Friday night because of prom but arrived the next morning and played in all of their remaining games.  He made an immediate impact and helped his team take home the championship.  It has been speculated by many that Kansas is the early favorite in his recruitment, but there are schools from all over the country actively pursuing him.
