#5 Kansas suffered their worst loss in recent memory at TCU on Wednesday night. To call the 62-55 Horned Frogs win an upset might not be strong enough. TCU hadn’t won a conference game this season and only had 9 wins overall entering the game against the Jayhawks. Lucky for TCU – the Jayhawks looked like they wanted to be anywhere but Ft. Worth, Texas from start to finish.
Kansas had their worst offensive performance of the season throughout the game, but the first half saw the Jayhawks play basketball like it’s 1913 and not 2013. Kansas went nearly 8 minutes with a field goal before somehow finding a way to score more than 10 points by halftime. TCU got to loose balls, key rebounds, and looked like they actually wanted to play throughout the half.
Kansas made a minor run in the second half to cut the TCU lead to 4, but the Horned Frogs quickly pushed the lead back to double digits after Kansas took questionable shots on back to back possessions.
Kansas finished the game shooting 18-61 (29%) from the field. 3-22 from 3 and 16-23 from the line.
TCU shot 18-46 (39%) from the field. 4-13 from 3 and 22-38 from the line.
Kansas will look to avoid their 3rd loss in a row on Saturday at Oklahoma.
