Redshirt sophomore Turner Baty announced today he will be returning to City College of San Francisco.

Baty came to Kansas with high hopes after putting up impressive numbers at CCSF. Though citing playing time as a factor in his decision, Baty remains positive about his time at Kansas.

“With Jake Heaps and Michael Cummings both competing for time at the quarterback position, I have decided it would be in my best interest to go back to City College of San Francisco and get some game experience,” said Baty. “I have not ruled out the idea of returning to Kansas after getting a season of play under my belt. I love it here. I love the university and my teammates and I want to thank everyone in the Jayhawk community for their support.”

As a constant positive spokesman of the Jayhawks Football program, Baty helped lure CCSF offensive linemen Ngalu Fusimalohi and Alexander Beglinger to Kansas.
Coach Weis was also positive about the situation.

“We would like to thank Turner for his participation in our program this year,” said Weis. “We wish him well upon his return to junior college. After meeting today we agreed that a return to KU is a possibility.”
