After eight straight losses you start to run out of questions for the head coach so today I focused on looking forward. We start out with Coach Weis talking about his goals and focus through these final three games saying he wants to find a way to win on the road but that he doesn’t notice a big change from this team whether home or away. He also says he refuses to tolerate “status quo” and will continue to make “tweaks” to his road itinerary saying that the team will leave earlier than usual and that the 11 o’clock kickoff helps buffer distractions.
And on cue, Weis again teases us all with talk about his scout team saying QB Jake Heaps and WR Justin McCay continue to impress. He also said it’s hard to simulate the opposing offenses they’ve been facing because they can’t create the same tempo and looks based off the fact that they simply don’t have the same kind of athletes.
Weis also talks about much more including RB Taylor Cox who Weis says, “is every bit as tough as James Sims” and that he will likely get more action “as we move forward”.
Weis goes on to talk his policies on social media which is “don’t be stupid”. He also talks briefly about the disaster on the north east (his old stomping ground) and gives us some insight into what it’s like being Charlie Weis and knowing Bon Jovi.
And last but not least Weis finishes off talking about the health of RB/WR Tony Pierson saying “as soon as the brace is off it’s going to be night and day”. That and much more can be seen below.
