2013 SF James Young impressed throughout his six games at Nike EYBL Peach Jam in North Augusta, SC this past weekend. Young averaged 21.5 ppg to go along with his 8.5 rpg. Young shot the bell well from the floor going 35-79 (44%) from the field and 18-39 (46%) from three. Young’s ability to slash to the rim certainly makes opponents back off of him to help avoid Young either finishing at the rim or finding an open teammate for an easy bucket. Once that happens Young just smoothly hits from three or uses his body to create space in order to get a pull-up mid-range jumper off. His length and strength all him to rebound outside of his area and he has a good feel for the game that helps him make the smart pass or leads to easy buckets in transition.
