2012 SG Anrio Adams (Rainier Beach/Seattle, WA) joined the other members of the 2012 Kansas basketball recruiting class in Lawrence when he arrived on campus Wednesday, TheShiver.com confirmed on Thursday morning. Adams originally committed to Kansas way back in November, but waited to sign with the Jayhawks until his hard work in the classroom paid off. Adams dedicated himself to the books over the last year in hopes that he would have no worries when it came to being cleared by the NCAA to play at Kansas. Not only did Adams do a great job of raising his overall GPA, but he also raised his score on his ACT. Adams will start session 2 summer school classes at Kansas Thursday, as well as join his Kansas teammates as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Adams did reclassify in high school, and that did change his national ranking because of that. Throw any ranking you see of his out because he’s better than any rankings you’ve seen. Adams has three point range, a terrific mid-range game, can get to the rim and finish with contact and an unbelievable toughness and hunger to win. In other words – he’s a Bill Self guard. He can play multiple spots on both ends of the court, and he doesn’t accept defeat and will show his emotions on the court. Many might refer to him as a sleeper recruit that Kansas got during Anrio’s career, but those have seen him play over the past few years are more than aware of how good he can be.
Welcome to Jayhawk Nation, Anrio!
