2013 PF Chris Walker has quickly become a fan favorite across Jayhawk Nation over the past year. Walker is one of the best when it comes to being open and honest about his recruitment via social media ( @cwalkertime23 ). Walker has, for the most part, been very consistent about the schools he’s considering and Kansas has very much been amongst the leaders for Walker for some time now. Currently, Walker’s top 5 schools in no particular order are Kansas, Florida, Louisville, Ohio State and Kentucky. One would have to guess that those will be the 5 schools that will receive official visits this fall as well, but with Florida being close to home for Walker the Gators might not get the ‘official’ tag when he visits there. Being close to home is also why, according to Walker, some could say that the Gators are in the drivers seat in his recruitment. That doesn’t mean that Walker has a leader or isn’t still very open in regards to his recruitment – it simply means that the in-state school does have a built in advantage. Florida just happens to be located in the state of Florida. Florida is also the state that Chris Walker lives in. See how that works?

According to Walker, Kansas will have the opportunity to show him that leaving the state of Florida could be a great decision for him. “Yes,” answered Walker when asked if he will officially visit Kansas. That should come to no surprise because there is no doubt that 2013 Kansas commitand Walker’s Florida Rams teammate, Brannen Greene, has likely had Walker officially visiting Kansas locked up for weeks. It’s been almost a year since both players made the trip to Lawrence for ‘Late Night in the Phog’.  A visit that left a lasting impression on Walker.

“KU [Kansas] is great,” said Walker. “I love them and they have a great facility and good coaching staff. They also have the most supportive fans,” added Walker about Kansas.

As for the visit – Walker said it’s probable that he returns for Late Night, but he isn’t 100% sure if that will be the date just yet.
