When will Perry Ellis announce?

2012 PF Perry Ellis (Wichita, KS/Heights videopics)  will announce his college decision a little sooner than most anticipated. The three time Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year will decide between Kansas, Kansas State, Wichita State and Kentucky on September 21st at 2:45 CST at Wichita Heights High School.

Wichita Heights senior Perry Ellis will announce his college choice on Wednesday September 21st at 2:45 in the Heights gymnasium.

Ellis, the 3 time Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year recently completed in home visits with the head coaches from The University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Wichita State University and The University of Kentucky. Ellis plans to sign a letter of intent with his final choice in November during the early signing period.

Kansas Head Coach Bill Self and Assistant Joe Dooley made a trip to The Miller School in Charlottesville, VA last week to check in with 2012 SG Andrew White. The 6’6″ 215 pound White has already scheduled his official visit to Kansas, but the he still enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the University of Kansas during the time he spent with the Kansas coaches at his school. Kansas Defensive Struggles Worsen

Any confidence this Kansas Jayhawks team had built in their 2-0 start was knocked out of them Saturday in Atlanta Georgia when the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech smacked the Jayhawks around to the tune of a 66-24 loss. Now heading into the bye week, Kansas has some tough decisions to make on the defensive side of the ball.

It’s never a good sign when your head coach says to a sideline reporter prior to the start of the second half that your offense has to score on every offensive possession as a key to winning the game. The Jayhawks wouldn’t score again till late in the 4th quarter but this statement says everything you need to know about the 2011 Jayhawks and how much confidence Head Coach Turner Gill has in his defense. 5 Things to Watch: Kansas vs. Georgia Tech

The Kansas Jayhawks Football team is set for their first road test of the 2011 season when they take on the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech at 11:30 Saturday. So what are the keys to a Jayhawks victory? Here are my 5 Things to Watch.

1. Get Going Early

The Georgia Tech offense is one of the most potent the Jayhawks will face in 2011. Georgia Tech is currently ranked 3rd in the nation in both rushing offense and total offense, and ranks 2nd overall in total scoring. Kansas proved the past two weeks that they are capable of scoring quickly but the bulk of their offensive production has come via the ground game.
