Star 2012 SG to visit Kansas

2012 SG Archie Goodwin (video, pics) will make his way to Lawrence, KS in September for the ‘Legends of the Phog’ basketball game that will be played on September 24th.

Goodwin, who lists Kansas, Memphis, Kentucky, Arkansas and UCONN as schools he’s currently considering, was the leading scorer during the NIKE EYBL Peach Jam earlier this summer despite just getting back to basketball after injuring his wrist. Read the rest of this entry »

Kansas Head Coach Turner Gill has been playing with moving pieces since arriving in Lawrence. Transitioning players to opposite sides of the ball and senior leadership exciting the program has left many Jayhawk fans and alumni wondering what this program can hang their hats on in 2011.

“Physical”, said Gill after being asked what he would like to see from his team on Saturday evening when his Jayhawks take on the McNeese State Cowboys.

“Speed and physicality, those are two things I want to look for. Obviously execution too, doing things in the right way. But I want to see us playing fast and being physical”. Read the rest of this entry »

The month of September is typically loaded with in home visits, unofficial visits and official visits for high school basketball players around the country. The Kansas coaching staff is hoping to have a chance to set up all three with their list of top targets in the 2012 and 2013 classes.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football head coach Turner Gill addressed two personnel changes regarding the Jayhawk football roster here Tuesday afternoon.

Gill first announced that freshman quarterback Brock Berglund will no longer be taking part in practice during the fall semester, but will remain a member of the Kansas football team.

“Due to legal issues, Brock will no longer be attending practices with the team this fall,” said Gill. “He will remain enrolled as a KU student, and plans to resume all team activities in the spring semester.” Read the rest of this entry »
