Due to health reasons, Carl Torbush announced today he is retiring from the University of Kansas and college football. Torbush, who served as KU’s defensive coordinator/linebackers coach, was recently diagnosed with low grade prostate cancer. He will be having surgery in the near future and expects a full recovery.

Bill Self’s Assists Foundation will host its signature fundraising event, Bill’s Basketball Boogie, on Saturday, June 4th at the College Basketball Experience at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City. Proceeds from the Boogie will benefit the Self’s foundation, which awards 10 community grants and eight four-year college scholarships on an annual basis and additionally supports various youth initiatives around the state.
