Jackson not ready to announce just yet
#2 in both polls for Kansas
The Kansas Jayhawks sits at #2 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches poll this week after watching former #1 Duke fall at Virginia Tech Saturday night. Instead of jumping into the top spot in the polls, the Jayhawks were jumped by Ohio State for the #1 spot in the USA Today Coaches poll.
The Jayhawks will host Texas A&M on Wednesday, Senior Day, before traveling to Missouri for the regular season finally this weekend. Read the rest of this entry »
Wonder Twin Powers Lead Kansas Over OU
The Kansas Jayhawks built their lead early and then just put it on cruise control on their way to beating the Oklahoma Sooners 82-70 Saturday afternoon in Norman, OK. The Jayhawks were once again led by the Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff, who combined for 42 points and 19 rebounds on 14-21 shooting. The Jayhawks were on fire during the first half as they went into halftime shooting 71% from the field. They finished the game at 56.8%, and no player missed more than 4 shots during the game. Oklahoma finished the game at 46% from the field, but the Jayhawks dominated the Sooners on the glass 33-14, included 11 offensive rebounds by the Jayhawks. Read the rest of this entry »

This weekend the Jayhawks will travel down to Lloyd Noble Arena to take on the Oklahoma University Sooners. This will be these teams first, and only, meeting of the season. Oklahoma is 12-15 overall, 4-9 in the Big 12. Kansas is 26-2 overall, 11-2 in the Big 12. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 3:00CST this Saturday.
Naismith’s Original Rules of Basketball on View at the Nelson-Atkins in Kansas City During March Madness
Nearly 120 years after James Naismith thumbtacked the freshly typed 13 rules to his new game, “Basket Ball,” to a gymnasium bulletin board, the original copy of those rules is coming to Kansas City. The document, purchased in December by KU alumnus David Booth and his wife Suzanne for $4.3 million, will be displayed in a temporary exhibit at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Mo.
