January 29th will be all about Kansas basketball on ESPN when the network brings its College GameDay crew to Lawrence for Kansas State @ Kansas game. January 29th will also be all about former Kansas superstar, Wayne Simien, as he will have his jersey hung in the rafters alongside names like Chamberlain, White and Manning. Simien, who was one of the biggest prep stars the state of Kansas has ever seen, will see the current Kansas prep superstar in the crowd on that night.
Class of 2012 PF Perry Ellis (Wichita, KS/Heights video, pics) will be in the house on January 29th not only see the Jayhawks and Wildcats on the court, but to also witness Simien’s number 23 jersey hung from the Allen Fieldhouse rafters.
Ellis will begin his unofficial visit tour this weekend when travels to Memphis to take in their Midnight Madness celebration. The trip to Memphis allows Ellis to not only see more about the Tigers basketball program, but he will also get to see his sister Savannah who is a senior for the Memphis Lady Tigers. Ellis will then travel to Lexington, Kentucky on November 12th for a Kentucky basketball game. Plans to see Texas A&M in College Station in January have been made, but Ellis has yet to set the exact game he will see at A&M.
