Big weekend for Kansas prospects

Darrian-2Friday night often results in big performances by some of the top high school football players in the country. TheShiver.com takes a look at how the Kansas recruits did during week 5 of the high school football season.

2011 RB Darrian Miller and  Blue Springs beat Lee’s Summit 69-42 on Friday night.. Miller led the way with 270 yards rushing on 20 carries and 5 TDs (highlights). Miller has a tentative plan to visit Kansas on October 23rd(Homecoming) against Texas A&M.
 
Class of 2011 OL Phil Ford and Bishop Miege fell to Blue Valley 28-13 on Friday night. Miege will look to snap their two game losing streak next week.
 
Class of 2011 QB/S/ATH Victor Simmons and Olathe North beat Shawnee Mission East 24-13. Simmons threw a 26 yard TD pass and was helped hold the Lancers offense scoreless during the second half.
 
Class of 2011 PL Dylan Admire and Blue Valley West defeated Blue Valley North 49-10 on Friday night.
 
Class of 2011 RB Dreamius Smith and Wichita Heights defeated Great Bend 45-14. However,  Smith was ejected from the game after the second play of the game. Smith’s teammate Evan Wessel, committed to play basketball at Wichita State, has received a football scholarship by Kansas.

 Class of 2011 S Alex Matock and Pflugerville defeated Atkins 49-21 on Friday night. Once the game got out of hand,  the Pflugerville starters were pulled. Matlock was still able to total 8 tackles and 1 pass break up.
 
Class of 2011 LB Jake Love and Tonkawa lost to Watonga 21-0 on Friday night.
 
Class of 2011 OL Travis Bodenstien and Shiloh Christian defeated Berryville 48-14 on Friday night.
 
Class of 2011 OL Damon Martin and Arlington defeated Arlington Lamar 35-7 on Friday night.
 
Class of 2011 QB Michael Cummings and Killeen defeated Del Valle 21-17. Cummings went 8 of 19 for 112 yards and one interception. An ankle injury limited Cummings effectiveness throughout much of the game.
 
Class of 2011 WR Jacorey Shepherd and Mesquite Horn defeated Stephenville 31-19. Horn’s starting QB was hurt this week; they started a freshman who went 9 of 16 for just 70 yards.
 
Class of 2011 Alex Mueller and Grapevine defeated LD Bell 21-20. Mueller was 2/2 on FG attempts including kicks of 40 and 26 yards. He also was 1/1 on PATs
 
Class of 2011 DB Chris Robinson and Lake Mary defeated University 37-9. Robinson returned a punt 65 yards for a TD during the game.
 
Class of 2011 OL Bryan Peters and La Mirada suffered a tough loss to La Serna 32-28.
 
Class of 2011 OL Luke Luhrsen and Wheaton Warrenville South defeated Naperville North 41-13 on Friday night.
