Brad Beal 1ORLANDO, Fla. — The U-17 AAU Super Showcase is loaded with talent as travel teams descended upon the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from all over the United States and Canada. Great performances were plentiful as the tournament was played on over 30 courts throughout the greater Orlando area, featuring intense games and energetic players, coaches and fans.

After spending 15-plus hours watching a plethora of games, Day 1 at the inaugural Las Vegas Fab 48 ended when Belmont Shore upended California Supreme 88-80. The explosive playmaking of 5-11 Cezar Guerrero (Bellflower, Calif./ St. John Bosco), the soft shooting touch of 6-8 DeAndre Daniels (TBD) and the dominant inside duo of 6-8 junior Grant Jerrett (La Verne, Calif./Lutheran) and 6-8 Ronnie Stevens (Gardena, Calif./Serra) were too much and eventually wore down the Supreme. Kansas and Florida on top for Staten

DSC_0071Shawnee, KS – - In his first tournament back after spending time at his grandmothers side in his native Alabama, Wesley Staten, the #15 ranked PG in the 2012 class, looked every bit like a top rated guard in the country early Friday morning at the Hoops City Classic. The 6’1″ 165 pound guard from Iowa has always been considered as a player who can put the ball in the basket at will, but what stood out the most when watching Staten, was his ability to get his teammates involved throughout the morning.
