Bishop Miege offensive lineman, Phil Ford, picked up the offer he’s been waiting for late last week when the Kansas Jayhawks offered Ford the long awaited scholarship offer. With offers from Kansas and Minnesota now in the books, Ford will now wait for additional offers that are surely coming his way before he makes his college decision. TheShiver.com caught up with Ford for a little Q & A session.
TheShiver.com – So you got an offer from KU, correct?
Phil Ford – Yes sir I did, I was really happy!
TheShiver.com – Who gave you the call and what did they say?
Phil Ford – It was Coach Gill and Coach Mitchell, they said they were happy I’m still interested in them and they will keep in touch and want me to be a part of their program.
TheShiver.com – What does this do to your recruitment? I know you liked KU a lot early, but Minnesota crept in there after they offered you and Max’s (Shortell) commitment?
Phil Ford – It makes my recruitment more fun now and makes me really happy sir. Yes I do and now I’m really liking Minnesota a lot since Max Committed there.
TheShiver.com – What are some of the things that you like about Kansas?
Phil Ford – The FOOD a lot haha and the campus is raw and I really like coach Grimes a lot and coach Gill and the Cheerleaders. And its awesome going to a basketball game and get to see the best team in the nation play. And their practice field, it always feels good on my feet.
TheShiver.com – I know you’ve befriended a few recruits that are looking at KU as well. How would it be to block for a RB like Darrian Miller
Phil Ford – Oh it would be REALLY GOOD! Me and D are really good friends and close as well.
TheShiver.com – Do you have a timeline on when you want to end your recruitment?
Phil Ford – Oh yes sir I’m going to pick my school after football season is over before basketball starts.
TheShiver.com – So you are going to take your official visits then?
Phil Ford – Yes sir I will, and enjoy the whole process.
TheShiver.com – Are you only going to visit KU and Minnesota or are there some other schools you might visit?
Phil Ford -Yes sir I am, I might visit OU and Oklahoma State. OU for sure since Justin is there, he’s my boy! I might visit UCLA as well
