McLemore impresses at Nike EYBL L.A.
Fast rising 2011 prospect, Ben McLemore, quickly became the hot topic of conversation this past weekend at Nike EYBL in Los Angeles. The 6’4″ SG from St. Louis put on a show throughout the Saturday session of EYBL that immediately had onlookers pointing to McLemore as the player with the highest ceiling in the 2011 class. That thought isn’t new for those that have spent time watching McLemore this summer, but it’s the reaction from those that are watching him for a second or third time that confirms how quickly McLemore is improving as a player. The New Jersey Playaz finished with the best record (13-1) in the Nike EYBL and will be the No. 1 seed in July for the Nike Peach Jam. It’s no surprise when you have a perimeter attack as skilled as the Playaz, including a quartet of multiskilled prospects that includes 5-foot-9 junior Myles Mack (Patterson, N.J./Paterson Catholic), 6-5 junior Vaughn Gray (Elmwood Park, N.J./Don Bosco Prep), 6-1 junior Myles Davis (Plainfield, N.J./St. Peters) and uniquely skilled 6-7 sophomore point forward Kyle Anderson (Paterson, N.J./Paterson Catholic).
