The Kansas football program once again reached deep into the heart of Texas and received a verbal commitment from a Lone Star state standout.
Pflugerville (TX) defensive back, Alex Matlock, recently returned from a trip to Kansas and the Kansas coaches made sure Matlock left impressed.
“It was great,” said Matlock. “I was really impressed with the campus,” he added.
Mt. Oread wasn’t the only thing that Matlock left Lawrence impressed with. Learning more about the academic aspects the University offers, and tourning the still new football facilities are two things that stood out to Matlock.
“I was able the academic and football facilities,” said Matlock of his KU visit.
Like most football prospects that tour the Kansas football facilities, Matlock was blown away with all that they offer.
“They were the best I’ve seen, and they rival any school,” said Matlock of the Kansas facilities.
After learning about the academic and football program at Kansas, Matlock left Lawrence with the feeling that KU just might be the place for him.
“It just gave me the right feel,” added Matlock about why he chose to commit to Kansas.
Matlock is the 7th player in the 2011 class to verbally commit to Kansas Coach Turner Gill and staff.
