Hensley6’2″ 215 pound outside linebacker from Alma, Arkansas, Jason Hensley, hasn’t been to Lawrence to see the University of Kansas yet, but that hasn’t stopped the Jayhawks from making their way into his top two of schools he’s currently considering.

“Kansas, Arkansas, Tulsa, North Carolina, Louisiana Monroe,” Hensley listed as the schools he’s currently considering.

Besides the Jayhawks, Hensley also has his home-state school leading the way thus far in his recruitment.

“Kansas and Arkansas,” answered Hensley about what schools are his current leaders.

As for Kansas, Hensley says coach (J.B.) Grimes is the lead recruiting for the Jayhawks in Hensley’s recruitment. Hensley also has plans to visit Kansas next month.

“He says I’m not just another number,” said a excited Hensley. “I really like coach Gill. He is a big reason why I like Kansas. He is a big Christian guy and that’s big! He cares about his players as well,” added Hensley about Kansas Coach Turner Gill.

According to Hensley, effort isn’t something he lacks on the football field. He also doesn’t lack the eagerness to get better at every aspect of the game.

“I give a 100% each play! And there is a lot I could work on,” said Hensley.

Hensley currently has no timetable as to when he will end his recruitment, but with a trip to Kansas planned for next month, the Jayhawks will have the opportunity to make themselves the outright leader for Hensley.
