The recruitment of Josh Selby, the No. 5-ranked player in the ESPNU 100, came to an end during halftime of the Jordan Brand Classic on April 17, when he announced his intention to play for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks next fall.

This night could not have come soon enough for a handful of coaches across the country who waited eagerly to see whether their programs would land the highly coveted point guard.

Selby’s recruitment was unique because of the large role his mother, Maeshon Witherspoon, played in the process. He originally committed to play for Bruce Pearl at Tennessee, but once he started to gain notoriety, he reopened his recruitment in July. Tennessee was still one of his potential choices, but he said he wanted to make sure that he took all possible options into consideration. Read more on Josh Selby here
