Kansas basketball signee, Royce Woolridge, will be heading to Louisville to play in the Derby Festival Basketball Classic. The All-Star game, which featured current Jayhawk Elijah Johnson last year, will be played on April 10th inside Freedom Hall.
The 2010 edition of the Derby Classic will feature players that are headed to some of the top schools in the country. Duke, Stanford, Louisville, Tennessee, UCLA and Kansas among others all have future players participating in the game. Woolridge is currently the only player representing a program from the Big 12.
Woolridge, who committed to the Jayhawks in May of 2008, made his pledge official earlier this fall when he signed his Letter of Intent. After another successful season at Sunnyslope High School (AZ), Woolridge will finally make his way to Lawrence this summer.
Most Jayhawk fans had their first opportunity to see Woolridge in person this past May when his AAU team, Arizona Magic, played in the Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence. It was there that Kansas fans saw first hand the scoring ability of Woolridge as he put on a display throughout the weekend.
