Redone-HelmetOne thing that can’t be argued since Turner Gill and staff arrived at Kansas is their will to recruit. Not only did the staff do a terrific job with the 2010 class, but they are already very active in the 2011 class. After hosting a number of prospects last weekend, the Jayhawks will, once again, host a number of players this weekend.

One prospect is 6’3″, 200 pound quarterback, Christian Suntrup, from Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis, Mo. Suntrup informed TheShiver.com that he will be making the trip to Lawrence on Saturday to learn more about new Kansas Head Coach, Turner Gill, and the Kansas program.

Suntrup has already received offers from Kansas, Nebraska and Stanford. Notre Dame, Iowa, Northwestern, Tennessee and Wisconsin among others are currently recruiting Suntrup.

Along with Suntrup, TheShiver.com has learned that Suntrup’s teammate, running back, Rob Standard, will also travel to Lawrence this weekend. Standard has already been offered by Nebraska and is being recruited by Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois and Kansas.

Chaminade College Prep wide receiver, Brandon Hannah, is not scheduled to make the visit with Suntrup and Standard, but Kansas is a school he would like to visit in the future.

“I would love to take some trips there,” said Hannah, who is on the ESPNU 150 watch list.

The Jayhawks are also expecting some in-state players to make the trip to Lawrence this weekend, Derrick Decker (Rose Hill, KS) and Tyler Matthews (McPherson). Reilly O’Toole (Wheaton, IL) is also expected to make the trip.

Another Missouri running back will travel to Lawrence this weekend. The 2009 Gatorade Missouri Player of the Year, Darrian Miller, from Blue Springs, MO will be making the short trip to Lawrence this weekend. Miller rushed for 2,750 yards in 2009 and currently has offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa. Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Oklahoma are among the schools actively recruiting the 5’10″, 185 pound running back.

6’1″, 180 pound QB/ATH, Kevonte Richardson, won’t be making his way to Lawrence this weekend, but according to Richardson, he does plan to attend KU’s camp later this year.
