SuntrupChristianTurner Gill and staff, once again, had a host of 2011 football prospects on campus this weekend and, once again, the Kansas football program impressed. Two of the visitors, Christian Suntrup (video here) and Rob Standard, from Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis (MO) made the trip west to Lawrence to learn more about the University. According to both, the trip was a hit.

“It was great,” said Standard. “I has a good time up there,” he added.

Standard, who has already been offered by Nebraska, didn’t leave Lawrence with a Kansas offer just yet, but it could be coming soon.

“They said they’re going to take a look at my highlights and then get back at me,” said Standard.

For Suntrup, who was originally offered by the previous Kansas staff, this was also his first time to visit KU. Like Standard, Suntrup left impressed.

“It was great,” said Standard. “I enjoyed it. It was my first time ever,” he added about visiting Kansas.

The Kansas coaches and the football facilities were two things truly impressed Suntrup, along with the crazy atmosphere inside Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

“The coaches and facilities were great,” said Suntrup. “The basketball atmosphere was amazing. It was a great trip,” he added.

It appears that Turner Gill and staff are leaving a lasting impression on recruits on a weekly basis at Kansas. Once again, showing that Kansas is making its recruiting a top priority.
