The #94 ranked player in the ESPNU 100, Royce Woolridge, signed his Letter of Intent to attend the University of Kansas minutes ago during a ceremony inside Sunnyslope High School in Arizona. To date, Woolridge is the lone recruit to commit to, and now sign with, the Jayhawks.
“I just signed it,” Woolridge said. “My friends were there and I gave a little speech,” added Woolridge.
Once he received his scholarship offer from Kansas Head Coach, Bill Self, the choice to commit to the Jayhawks was an easy one for Woolridge.
“Their history and their fans,” Woolridge said about what made the Jayhawks such an easy choice for him.
Woolridge’s mother is also expected to make her way north with her son in 2010. According to Woolridge, she will likely move to the Kansas City, Missouri area. Woolridge already has a number of family members that currently reside in the state of Kansas and Kansas City area.
