Knight2The #4 player in the ESPNU 100, Brandon Knight, returned to south Florida on Sunday afternoon after officially visiting the University of Kansas with his family over the weekend. TheShiver.com spoke with Knight’s father, Efrem Knight, about the visit and what’s next for Knight.

“It went great,” said Efrem Knight about the Kansas visit. “It’s a great college community,” added Knight.

Although Kansas has been one of the six schools that Knight has listed for some time now, no one really knew where the Jayhawks sit among the six schools. If the Jayhawks were lower on the list before the visit, it appears that they have put themselves in a great position after the visit.

“They’re being considered,” said Knight of the Jayhawks. “That’s for sure,” added Knight.

According to Knight, Brandon had a great time hanging out with multiple members of the current basketball roster.

“He loves them,” said Knight of Brandon’s thoughts about members of the current Kansas roster. “He thinks they’re a great bunch of guys. He hung out with a bunch of them,” added Knight.

The academic side of the University is something the Knight family was very interested in learning more about once they arrived on campus. For Brandon, a 4.0 student, academics is something that will weigh heavily on his college decision. The Knight family also had the opportunity to watch Coach Self and the Kansas coaching staff conduct a full practice; that gave them the chance to see how the coaches interact with the players on the court.

“Definitely got to meet with them,” Knight said of meeting with Academic Advisers. “It was a good practice. He’s (Coach Self) is a good coach,” added Knight about taking in a Kansas practice.

According to Knight, now that the visit to Kansas is complete, the family will now take some time to evaluate different aspects of the visit.

“We will sit down and go through the pros and cons, and then go from there,” said Knight.

Having already made visits to Connecticut, Kentucky and now Kansas, Knight has used three of the five official visits that prospects can take. According to Knight’s father the last two will likely be taken before any decisions are made.

“I think he’ll take all of his visits before deciding,” said Knight of Brandon taking his two remaining official visits. “He may go to Florida on the 13th,” added Knight.
