The #15 ranked player in the ESPNU Super 60, Brad Beal, had hoped to make his college decision before his junior season tipped off, but with with practice and try-outs starting on Monday, it doesn’t appear that Beal will make his decision any time soon. However, it seems to be a good bet that Beal will make his high school basketball team after try-outs are completed this week.
“I’m not sure when,” Beal said about making his college decision. “I just want to do it when the time is right.”
There has been a lot of speculation about Beal and his recruitment over the last few months, rumors about what schools are involved with the 6’3″, 180 pound scoring machine and which of those schools leads in his recruitment. According to Beal, no rumors are true and he has no leader at this time.
“No, I don’t have a leader at all,” said Beal about his recruitment.
Beal has no unofficial visits scheduled at this time. He was originally scheduled to attend ‘Late Night in the Phog’ at the University of Kansas on October 16th, but made the trip with his family to Alabama to see his older brother instead. However, Beal will likely make a short trip to the Scott Trade Center in his hometown St. Louis on November 17th to see the Kansas Jayhawks versus the Memphis Tigers in a rematch of the 2008 National Title game.
“Yeah, I should be there,” said Beal of attending the game in St. Louis next week.
Although being recruited by many schools, Kansas, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Duke and Ohio State are thought to be the six that currently stand out for 2011 prospect.
