Jones--200x100In an email to TheShiver.com on Tuesday afternoon, Linda Mashia-Jones, the mother of  the #15 ranked ESPNU 100, Terrence Jones, explained that her son is no longer considering Kansas or Arizona. Jones had previously mentioned that he would decide which school to officially visit this weekend, but that decision never came. Instead, Jones will move forward with his previously scheduled official visits in the coming weeks.

“We will not be making an official visit to Kansas or Arizona,” said Mashia-Jones of their decision. ”We are going to make our decision out of the five schools we currently have. They are Oklahoma, University of Washington, UCLA, Kentucky and University of Oregon,” added Mashia-Jones.

With Arizona receiving two recent commitments and the Jayhawks recruiting a number of diffferent propects in the 2010 class, it appears that Jones didn’t feel that he was a major target for either school.

“Arizona has received two commits from Terrence’s class, so their focus has changed and they have decided to go in a different direction,” Mashia-Jones said of the Wildcats. ”Kansas is someone I haven’t had a lot of contact with. I know there are recruiting very heavily, and have their eyes on many recruits. I believe they are interested in Terrence but he is not a high priority for them,” added Jones of the Jayhawks.

Moving forward, both Jones and his mother are looking forward to the upcoming visits and wish nothing but good luck to the Jayhawks and Wildcats.

“I wish both Arizona and Kansas the best of luck,” said Mashia-Jones. ”We still plan on taking our official visits to UCLA on November 6th and Kentucky on October 27th for their blue and white game. We will also take an unofficial visit to University of Oregon on October 31st,” added Mashia-Jones.
