Having already made an unofficial visit to Kansas on October 16th, the #8 ranked player in the ESPNU 100, Josh Selby, is now ready to check out one of the five schools that remain on his list. According to his mother, Maeshon Witherspoon, Selby will unofficially visit Indiana on November 14th.
Originally Selby and Witherspoon hoped to make two visits in the coming weeks, but were unable to set up another visit before Selby begins his senior season. One of those visits would have been taken this weekend to Kentucky, but those plans got put on hold once the Wildcats began plans to practice in Louisville this weekend. Although that practice won’t take place this weekend, it was too late for Selby and Witherspoon to arrange the trip to Lexington.
“We will visit Indiana on the 14th,” Witherspoon said. “It will be a unofficial visit, and just a 1 day visit,” added Witherspoon about the Indiana visit.
The visit to Bloomington will likely remain as a unofficial visit, but there is an outside chance of it being an official visit should Selby receive his scores after taking one of the standardized test last weekend. The NCAA requires a score be posted before any future student athletes can officially visit a college campus.
Selby could receive his scores before November 14th, but with the visit only being for one day, Selby and Witherspoon may choose to keep the Indiana visit unofficial. However, Selby will use three of his five official visits once plans are finalized for trips to Syracuse, Kentucky, and Miami. After that, according to Witherspoon, they hope to make return trips to schools they like.
“After the visits are done, we are hoping to visit the schools we like more than once,” Witherspoon said. “We just want to visit every school, and give every one of them an opportunity,” added Witherspoon.
