jayhawks9Sitting at 5-1 (1-1) half way through the season, the Kansas Jayhawks are now entering into the most difficult part of their schedule. Starting with Oklahoma on Saturday, the Jayhawks have three of their remaining six regular season game against Big 12 south opponents. Two of the three games against the Big 12 south are on the road at Texas Tech, and Texas. The other road game remaining on the schedule, not counting the Missouri game in Kansas City,  is at Kansas State on November 7th. Facing two tough match-ups in the next two weeks, the Jayhawks will look to avoid three straight losses heading into the game against their cross state rival.

The Jayhawks were expected to challenge for their first championship game berth and looked good during the non-conference part of their schedule, although they were tested only by Southern Mississippi. The high-powered passing trio of quarterback Todd Reesing and wide receivers Kerry Meier and Dezmon Briscoe might be the conference’s best. The defense is another story as the Jayhawks nearly lost against Iowa State before falling at Colorado because of their defensive liabilities.
