Three-star DE, Geneo Grissom, ended his recruitment in June when he committed to his home state Kansas Jayhawks. Since his senior season at Hutchinson High School kicked off, Grissom’s play on the field has Kansas fans excited about his future as a Jayhawk. Grissom has looked unblock-able this season and it appears that the Jayhawks aren’t the only ones to notice. Although committed to the Jayhawks, Grissom has recently picked up a scholarship offer from the LSU Tigers and, according to Grissom’s coach, Randy Dreiling, the Tigers have made Grissom one of their targets in the 2010 class.
“That’s what he (Grissom) told me,” said Dreiling of LSU offering Grissom. “He said Coach, I think LSU just offered me,” added Dreiling.
Despite already having three defensive ends committed to the Tigers in the 2010 class, it appears that Les Miles and staff are hoping that Grissom takes a closer look at the SEC powerhouse.
“LSU said that they’re looking at defensive ends and that he’s their top one and they want him to visit,” said Dreiling.
Although Grissom is flattered by the Tigers offering a scholarship, he seems to be firmly committed to Mark Mangino and the Kansas Jayhawks.
“He is extremely flattered by it, but I know he’s still a solid commitment to Kansas,” said Dreiling of Grissom.
