Defensive end Peter Okonofua is ready for his recruitment to start picking up. At 6’3″, 230 pounds, Okonofua, who’s from Mansfield High School (TX), is getting looks from many schools around the region and the Big 12. Now that his senior season is in full swing, Okonofua should start to see some offers come his way.

“It’s a little slow,” Okonofua said about his recruitment. “I know it will pick up, and I’m getting looks from a lot of schools,” added Okonofua.

Okonofua’s current list includes UTEP, Houston, Minnesota, Kansas, Iowa State, Bucknell, Baylor and Colorado State. As far as the Jayhawks are concerned, Okonofua is hoping to hear more.
“Well they send me lots of mail, but for the most part, not too serious yet,” Okonofua said.

One reason why schools might have been in the “wait and see” mode, is Okonofua’s test scores. According to Okonofua, that is no longer the case.

“My transcript just got sent again,” Okonofua said. Most schools were waiting on that and my test scores. That’s taken care of now,” added Okonofua.

Okonofua has already mapped out the schools that he would like to visit.

“I plan on visiting schools as much as I can,” said Okonofua. I plan on going to Minnesota, hopefully Baylor, Kansas, and Houston,” added Okonofua.
